Renew: An Energy Healing Event
Jumping from March to July, we had an April event, a May event, and we just had the June event. Now there’s another one coming up in July! We are super excited to once again come together for another season opening and share the glory of all that we’ve learned together
For our Earth Day event back in April, we collaborated with Glow Wit Da Flow. It was a long event from 6pm to 2am, so we had healing arts in the beginning, and then the gloga dance party and massage body workshops going on later in the night. From this experience we learned that perhaps it was a bit too long for practitioners, so the next event–Renew–we decided to split it up. Maybe it was confusing, but really we did from 6pm to 9pm the Thai massage workshop, gong meditation, sound healing, and yoni steam sound bath. After 9pm was the mindful mandala painting and gloga with all the different vendors.
Throughout the event Divine Productions provided an update on Astrological Elements and the Moon’s Cycle. Kate Lamprich of Essential Health + Wellness will speak about the benefits of self care as well as a 10-minute Connecting With the Body meditation accompanied by a gong sound bath. Teapots, Herbs, and Stools for the steam were provided via Blossoms Blooming for womb-embodying individuals who wished to experience the power of sound healing + sound bowls in a private infrared therapy room for the yoni/peri steam offering. Together we discovered the healing art of Thai Massage and learned about the principles and techniques of Thai massage, including how to apply pressure, stretch, and manipulate the body to promote relaxation + alleviate tension led by the highly skilled and experienced practitioner Maureen Hughes. And of course, Our Green Tea Garden was stocked with fruit, veggies, hummus, Confluence Kombucha’s local brew, infused beverages, and Fiji water, because we believe in nourishing the people!
Later in the evening Debby Siegel led our Black Light Yoga class, tapping into the wisdom of light therapy while flowing and breaking a sweat. Mindful Yoga & Art taught a neon mándala mini canvas work(play)shop that was extra sweet. Sacred Empowerment offered a chakra cleansing in the infrared therapy room, and Empress Emily was in the mystic study offering tarot and oracle readings.
It was great to have everybody congregate, show up, and come into the space with open minds and hearts. Upstairs there was some food and drinks in the concession area. In the back was all the sound healing. Earlier in the evening we even had a xylophonist and marimba player join the music healing. As people were arriving, they were helping Kait from Blossom Blooming bring her stools up the stairs. As the great practitioner that she is, she led the self-care talk as well as a guided abdominal massage. Everybody seemed to love that.
There’s lots of contraindications with steaming, so not everybody could steam, so that’s why we also had the Thai massage going on simultaneously. Kait even held a few private steams after the event, so it was refreshing to see people take interest and want to do this.
Kait did her training as a Yoni Steam facilitator with an herbalist who passed along to her as her student five different formulas of herbs for Yoni steaming. The herbs are nettles, lavender, lemon peel, rose, motherwort, mugwort, astragalus root, and peppermint; with different combinations and ratios baked on the needs of her clients.
For the steam we did together at Renew, and always for a first time steam with Kate, we used a Gentle Formula. When Kait does full consultations with clients, a conversation entails to determine if gentle, cleansing, disinfecting, cooling, or just the universal formula is best to achieve the clients’ optimal health goals.
The Thai massage workshop was so fun. Everybody was so surprised and had a really great experience. Hearing the rumble of the bass sounds while we were massaging into the mats was therapeutic in a cool, surprising way. We stacked the mats 1 vertical and 1 horizontal in a circle, while Maureen had her big mat in the middle, so she instructed us from within the circle, and it felt like we were all together and connecting.
The attendance held a diverse audience with lots of new friends, wide age range, couples, women, etc. The yoni steam was really great; people were there telling their stories and connecting in intimate groups. It was a beautiful time of meeting a stranger and getting comfortable doing something new together while connecting under a full moon.
Present at the event we had a massage therapist from Maui who taught us a new Hawaiian greeting, a few new techniques like butterfly hands, pressure, and different modalities to explore!
We received great feedback and interest for what we have going on, and are getting excited for our next sound bath event coming up here soon in July.
